About Derma Planing

Dermaplaning is a skin exfoliation process that removes debris and vellus hair, sometimes known as “peach fuzz.”

It’s not the same as dermabrasion, which involves exfoliating the skin with a high-speed rotating brush by an aesthetician or doctor. Dermaplaning is done using a scalpel or a tool known as a dermatome.

Your skin will be brighter and smoother after exfoliation and hair removal. Fine lines and wrinkles may be softened, and hyperpigmentation, or uneven skin tone, may be reduced. It’s also used to heal acne scars that are rather deep. The effectiveness of this treatment is highly dependent on your skin type, tone, and medical history.
